John Stegmann Collection [Textual records]

Collection consists of biographical excerpts from various sources concerning John Stegmann. Born in 1754 in Hesse, he served against the American rebels in the Revolutionary War; thereafter settled in York, taking up employment as a surveyor; died in wreck of schooner Speedy in 1804. Collection includes 1834 bible belonging to John Stegmann's son, George.

Collection consists of indentures, agreements, insurance policies, correspondence, last will and testaments, and a land survey for Lot 25, Concession 10 owned by Jonathan Scott in Nashville. Also includes 4 printouts of images Guylaine emailed to the Archives depicting House Yarrow in Nashville, the wedding in 1928 of Roberta Zella Scott and Frank Nattress, and Mrs Arabella Emma Scott (nee Erb) who was born in Nashville and for whom Nashville, Ontario was named. She was the wife of Jonathan Harries Scott. Also included is a family tree "Descendants of Jonathan Scott", also emailed to Archives by Guylaine Petrin. Also included is photocopy of the will of Jonathan Scott, 1884 (found by Guylaine in the Archives of Ontario).

Collection consists of images of Kleinburg. Images depict various aspects of late-19th to early-20th century Kleinburg including Old Mill Race, Mill Pond, Mills, bridge over Humber, Arch Bridge, Kleinburg Dam, construction of Hwy. 27, various streetscapes (for the most part relating to Main St.), etc.

Kleinburg "Spirit" Newsletter and Document Collection

Accession is comprised primarily of "Kleinburg Spirit" newsletters which were published by the Kleinburg Area Ratepayer's Association (KARA). Other items include a proposed 3rd version of a "Walking Tour of Kleinburg," a program for the 43rd Binder Twine Festival and a book called "For Those Who Served" by Murray Hesp.

Laura Weaver collection

Collection consists of photographs of students and staff of Langstaff School, 1893 and Concord School, 1924, n.d.; photographs of attendees of Thornhill United Church Sunday School picnic, 1925, Thornhill Girls Hockey Team, 1918, and unidentified family portrait originally owned by the late Mary Jane Weaver. Textual records consist of newspaper clippings documenting aspects of the heritage of Markham, Vaughan and Richmond Hill from the 1970's to 1985, with a particular focus on built heritage.

Collection consists of photocopies of land deeds, indentures, descriptions of lands, correspondence, and declarations. Concerns lands in seventh concession, lots seven and eight in Woodbridge near the Wallace Bros., John Abell, and Farr family's lands/buildings. Contains plans and surveys (showing land owners' names) for said area for 1914, 1923, 1944 and 1951. Collection shows the progression of sale of lands through the years.

Lord Beaverbrook collection

Collection consists of material relating to William Maxwell Aitken, who later became Lord Beaverbrook. Beaverbrook was born in Maple and was a politician, newspaper magnate (he owned the mass-circulation London Daily Express and London Evening Standard), historian, Britain's Minister of Aircraft Production during WWII, and confidant of Winston Churchill. Collection consists of correspondence including a letter by Beaverbrook's biographer, A.J.P. Taylor, and photoprints include images of unveiling of plaque in Maple commemorating his achievements.
