Collection consists of reproductions of Cartographic items depicting various man-made and natural physical features of Vaughan Township and York County: rivers, road and railway systems, churches, schools, post offices, saw and grist mills, landowners, concession and lot layout. Collection is multi-provenance.

Item consists of an extensive history of the evolution of the Humber River and Carrying Place Trail and their contribution over the years to the development of Canada through exploration, settlement, and commerce. Includes a timeline of histroical events as well as historical photos and coloured photographs of the Humber River and surrounding area.

Fonds consists of three maps of Maple dated 1904, 1936, and 1963 which depict the layout of the community as well as the names and locations of various businesses and farms.

Item consists of an unpublished thesis. The work elucidates early history of Vaughan Township from intial European settlement in the wake of the American Revolution to 1840; as such predates advent of local government, which was implemented in 1850; provides analysis of topography, transportation, settlement patterns, economic development, the general pioneer social experience and their interconnection; also comments on impact of War of 1812 and 1837 Rebellion on Vaughan Township.

File consists of photographs that depict the Woodbridge Core (low-level aerial view); Woodbridge Ave. looking west; and east; and the "Market Lane Barn", a historic barn refurbished and converted into a restaurant.

Fonds consists of plans, reports, studies, correspondence, published materials, essays, and newspaper clippings which document the planning and development of Vaughan. Specific Vaughan topics within the fonds include the Maple dump, the Maple theme park, the Woodbridge annexation, and the building of the Vaughan industrial park, to name but a few. Moreover, official plans and studies for Thornhill, Maple, Kleinburg, Nashville, and Woodbridge provide invaluable evidence as to the evolutionary development of these communities.

Item consists of a report that details findings and provides archaeological assessment of the Seed-Barker Site (AkGv-1), a late Iroquoian village located in the City of Vaughan on the east bank of the East Humber on property owned by the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (MTRCA); site is situated on a meander spur 4.5 km north of Woodbridge and 2.75 km southeast of Kleinburg. First excavated in 1895 under direction of R.B. Orr and Joseph Smelser; subsequent excavations include: A.J. Clark in 1925, Norman Emerson in 1951, Brian Snow in 1975-1977, and Robert Burgar in 1983-1989.

Item consists of a report executed in fulfilment of provincial licence 82-65; presents the location and cultural affinity of the McKenzie Site (a.k.a. Wood ridge), AkGv-2; reviews the history of the excavations between 1947 and 1977; discusses the 1982 excavations of the village and midden areas; descibes the extended work in the burial area to the northeast of the village; outlines the disposition of this year's fieldnotes, maps and cultural remains; and develops recommendations for that part of the site that remains. The McKenzie Site is a single component village, Southern Division, Huron-Petun Branch of the late Ontario Iroquoain Tradition dated ca. 1500-1520 A.D.

Fonds consists primarily of indentures, providing evidence of the disposition of the Watson family farm, located on lot 32, concession 7, Vaughan Township from the 1830's to the 1930's, and miscellaneous legal and financial documents; also includes William Watson's teaching certificate and a history of the Watson family compiled in 1999.
