Format is a series of stills, photographs and portraits, with contemporary footage, as well as museum living history interpretations, and narrative commentary.

Item consists of a map. Map delineating road beats in Vaughan Township, ca. 1879. Road beats were divisions of the Township delineated for the purpose of facilitating the administration and actual execution of road maintenance in compliance with local statutes of labour. The latter were in place in lieu of municipal taxation for the purposes of road maintenance, and involved obligations on the part of property owners to undertake road work, with the time requirements being directly proportional to the assessed value of a given property. The data utilised in the compilation of the map was gleaned from the Vaughan Township statute of labour returns.

Fonds consists of plans, reports, studies, correspondence, published materials, essays, and newspaper clippings which document the planning and development of Vaughan. Specific Vaughan topics within the fonds include the Maple dump, the Maple theme park, the Woodbridge annexation, and the building of the Vaughan industrial park, to name but a few. Moreover, official plans and studies for Thornhill, Maple, Kleinburg, Nashville, and Woodbridge provide invaluable evidence as to the evolutionary development of these communities.
