File consists of two videocassettes. Items chronicle the history of one of Vaughan's founding families, the Bakers, who first settled in the area in 1800. The Bakers journeyed from Somerset County, Pennsylvania and lived in Vaughan until 1998. At that time, 3 generations of the Baker family returned to Pennsylvania due to the encroachment of development on their traditional way of life.

Item consists of textual records. Alan Skeoch's paper discusses the financial records and accouts of the Snider Farm from 1888-1890 which give much insight into the poverty and hardship facing many Ontario farmers at that time.

Item consists of an account ledger used by an unknown person or family to record daily expenses and the number of stock born each year. The names of many people also appear throughout the ledger when the owner of the ledger either sold them items, stock, services or paid them wages. Book gives a good example of the cost of everyday items (ex. sugar, apples, bread, eggs, lemons, oil cloth, curtains, paper, starch) as well as the type of items available at that time and their change in value over time. Ledger was also used by a child for scribbling and writing practice.

Also included is a register of the births, marriages, and deaths in the family which used to hang in the parlour.
