Fonds consists of records that reflect the functions and activities of Council as a legislative and regulatory body in legal matters, taxation, justice and public protection, education, public health and welfare, finance, public accountability and planning. Records include, but are not limited to: working papers, minutes and resolutions, by-laws, reports to Council, and Court of Revision Records. The fonds chronicles Council activities and functions, and documents decisions and deliberations, and relationship with the civic administration, the Province of Ontario, the County of York, the Village of Woodbridge before 1971, and the Regional Municipality of York after 1971.

The fonds consists of records that reflect the different roles that Janet played throughout her life as well as the various activities and functions she performed throughout the community. The fonds is arranged into five series and then various subseries, all of which reflect Janet’s diverse activities.

The majority of the records are textual (i.e. minutes, reports, correspondence, published material, newspapers, etc.) although there is also a sizable photograph collection as well as some maps and plans and even artwork. Fonds consists of: Binder Twine Festival programs, posters, artwork, committee minutes, advertising, press releases, copies of by-laws, books, correspondence, account ledgers, newsletters, speeches, research notes, newspaper clippings, cassette tapes, Kleinburg/community history notes (eg. File consists of photographs. Two images of respective two-storey brick residential structures; internal evidence suggests hamlet of Rupertville as location of both structures; date of execution, attribution and other details unknown.

Item consists of a photoessay. Octagonal barn built between 1870 and 1890 by Isaac Hafenbrack for Samuel Troyer; structure representative of the onset of the "octagon craze" that developed in Ontario at the time of the construction of the above.

Item consists of a photoessay. The round house was reputedly built by Adam or Jacob Rupert in 1837. Octagonal shape of structure attributable to concerns re: heat and circulation space, and conservation of building materials; located lot 21, concession 4, Maple, Ontario.

File consists of photographs. 2 photos depict the Jacob Stong House, built in 1860 lot 25, concession 4, North York; 1 image depicting members of Stong family; 1 image illustrating the construction of barn, lot 22, concession 3. Photocopies of original images and notations on obverse thereof included for information purposes.

File consists of a tweedsmuir history that details all aspects of the functions and activities of the subject agency; particular emphasis on biographical data on membership and officers. Also of note is the presence of brief histories of all of the various constituent local branches of the district institute delineating activities, achievements, officers, etc. Includes numerous photographs.

File consists of photographs that focus for the most part upon the Inkerman and Gilmour hotels in Woodbridge, providing excellent views of the facade, including a fine study of a group of carpenters and labourers in front of the Inkerman House (hotel); also includes an image, partially obscured by foliage, of the Howland Mills in Kleinburg; image of the Beaverbrook House in Maple, birthplace of Baron (a.k.a Lord) Beaverbrook, is also present.

Item consists of a videocassette. Interview conducted by Gary McMahan of Heritage Vaughan member Gordon Miller. Heritage Vaughan, the City of Vaughan's Local Architectural Advisory Committee to Municipal Council, as represented by G. Miller, objected strenuously to Council's decision to approve the demolition of the Woodbridge Hotel in 1996, the sole remaining commercial structure possessing heritage significance in the City of Vaughan.

Fonds consists of copies of photographs of various members of the Maynard family. Images include examples of select local architectural features, such as the R.J. Wallace General Store.
