Item consists of a manuscript. Manuscript records the history of the Baker Farm from its purchase in 1816 to 1990. It provides a comprehensive description of activities of family members on the farm, and the general operation of the farm, including the "Sugar Bush". Also, the construction and layout of all buildings on the property are described in great detail.

Collection consists of three items: memoir of William Vaughan, originally published in 1839, with only the title page copied for reference purposes; the collector's compilation of his family tree purporting to trace descendancy to Benjamin Vaughan (one of the signatories of the Paris Peace Treaty of 1784 and City of Vaughan namesake); and an unpublished history of the so-called "Baker Homestead", located on lot 11, concession 2, Vaughan.

Item consists of a monograph. Biography of Ruth Reesor, whose ancestors (the Baker family) moved to Vaughan Township in 1816. In addition to chronicling the experience of the author and the Baker and Reesor families in Vaughan, the work documents the tremendous social and economic changes that occurred in Vaughan during the early to late 20th century.

Fonds consists of a variety of material from the Green, Tustian, Wheadon, Kerr, Baker, and Steckley families of various media types. This includes geneological history on the families (1 binder of history notes, newspaper articles, memorabilia, etc; 1 packet of family tree charts; 2 family photo albums). Accession also contains two bibles (one belonging to George Leslie Green and one to Annie Kerr Ash), two marriage certificates with one additional copy (George Leslie Green and Bertha Evelyn Steckley, Annie Louise Kerr and Alfred Ash), one high school admission certificate to B.E. Steckley, one certificate of merit to G. Green, and various loose photos (54 unidentified, one of E.B. Carrie).

Corn, wheat, & maple syrup : the Baker family story 1800-1998

File consists of two videocassettes. Items chronicle the history of one of Vaughan's founding families, the Bakers, who first settled in the area in 1800. The Bakers journeyed from Somerset County, Pennsylvania and lived in Vaughan until 1998. At that time, 3 generations of the Baker family returned to Pennsylvania due to the encroachment of development on their traditional way of life.

Fonds consists of a banner used for the official opening of City Hall, as well as 46 reference books on Canada, Ontario and Vaughan Township history. Also included is 1 enlargement of the Humber River on foam core. Of particular interest is a 2000 calendar with Lorna Jackson's artwork, a 1986 Kleinburg Binder Twine Festival program, a book on the Keffer Site and archeaological dig, a book from the Pennsylvania-German folklore society on the baker family homestead, an article on Patterson in the York Pioneer Journal, and writeups on Al Palladini and Gus Lanzarotta's businesses.

The October 2011 Accession (RG 18-011.1) included a banner to commemorate the Official Opening of the New City Hall on September 25, 2011. The majority of the images on this banner were taken from City of Vaughan Archives. The banner provides a timeline and depicts images of buildings used for City Hall throughout Vaughan's history as well as scenes from Vaughan's past.

The May 2014 Accession (RG 18 -014.2) included a CD consisting of images depicting the Inaugural Council of 2010, the Vaughan Accord of 2011, as well as photos of the new City Hall Construction, Christmas Wish Toy Drive, and Old Heritage and Vaughan Celebrates Photos from 2010.

Accession M022.4 contains objects related to well-known Vaughan figures and insitutions including John Thompson, Major Mackenzie, Garnet Williams and Elizabeth Arden. Many books contain inscriptions relating to the Stump family and the Bibles have inserts of birth registers and obituaries.

Accession M024.4 consists of 3 files relating to heritage properties on Keele Street: 8981 Keele, 9589 Keele and 9560 Keele.

Baker Family Collection

Collection consists of 3.5cm of textual materials, including paperwork regarding Mennonite Consciencious Objectors newsletters from work camps, non-resistant Relief Organization letters, National War Services Regulations and information regarding the Baker and Cober farms. Of particular interest is a 1918 letter to the Commanding Officer at Exhibition Camp, Toronto, regarding Isaac Baker, asking for his release from military service.
