Item consists of a manuscript that contains memories of Olive Arlow growing up on the farm just outside of Elder's Mills. Topics include: farming, local businesses, schools and churches, Hurricane Hazel, WWII, scarlet fever, polio and quarantines, snowstorms, and local families and individuals.

Bryson School fonds

Fonds consists of one "visitor's book" which includes the commentsof the Public School Inspector and School Superintendent during their annual inspection, in addition to comments made by occasional visitors (teachers from other local schools, etc.); this volume also includes the minutes of the annual meetings of the school's trustees, 1868-1890; and lists of pupils and the fees required of each to attend the school. Fonds also includes a history of the school; a list of teachers; and 4 photoprints depicting the brick structure and students as it appeared in 1957, with one photoprint doing the same for [between 1876 and 1879].

File consists of a photograph of the Carrville Public School (School Section #3) located next to where Vince and Jean Del Brocco lived, opposite the Carrville Church. School was closed down and demolished shortly after 1960. Also included is a picture of the ruins of the old Reaman log cabin that used to stand on the edge of the creek, opposite the Carrville Post Office and hidden from the road. Third, a photo of Ann and their three children, Daniel (in the apple tree) Abigail and Adam holding a cat in the garden behind the house. Ann wrote is was "quite a wild field, we had no money for a lawn mower but we enjoyed the land. Must have been about 1967. The children were born, 59, 61 and 63. Now all have PhDs. Daniel is with the World Bank, in Colombia, Abigail with Microsoft in Cambridge, UK and Adam is a Professor in Merida, Mexico".

File consists of 1963 photographs of Stan Sellen and his family and a neighbor, Bert Whitty, at Carrville Post Office (at that time their family home) which was built by Thomas Cook in 1844 and became the post office in 1965. Item consists of attendance registers. In addition to listing attendees, register delineates provincial instructions to local trustees, teachers, and school inspectors vis-a-vis attendance, as well as indicating the moral climate of the day as it existed in the education system as seen through the inclusion of specific directives in the matter of religious and moral instruction.
