Andrew Snider collection

Collection consists of newspaper clippings and manuscripts pertaining to the history of Langstaff, with particular emphasis on the Langstaff School, the area's pioneer period, the development of transportation systems, etc., and the origin of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, and the history of the St. Andrew's Women's Foreign Missionary Society, including its organization, election of officers, membership etc.

Ann Crichton-Harris Collection [Textual records]

Collection consists of two copies of an account of the saving and restoration of the Carrville Post Office by Ann Crichton-Harris. The Post Office was built by Thomas Cook ca. 1845 and lived in by the Del Brocco and Sellen family. The pamphlets include photos of the building and previous residents, as well as memories of growing up in house in 1960s by Dr. Daniel Sellen. The collection also contains a copy of Crichton-Harris' self-published book "Saving the Carrville General Store and Post Office - a very personal account" that was printed in 2014; ISBN: 9781503247826.

Printouts of photos from restoration ceremony held on Sept 19, 2013 were added by Archives staff to M013.23. Photos show the Del Brocco sisters now in their 80s and 90s. Also included is an article from the Toronto Star from 2009 regarding Crichton-Harris' fight to save the post office.

Accession M015.21 consists of two (2) digital image files, which contain images of two of Stan Sellen's art piece he gifted to Crichton-Harris. The images consist of a pastel print that captures the view opposite of 1076 Rutherformd Road in Maple, and the watercolour of the northwest corner of Dufferin Street and Rutherford road (originally Carrville).The images have been printed and retained in the Archives, along with the digital files themselves.

Canada's Wonderland Memorabilia

File consists of four (4) brochures obtained from trips to Canada's Wonderland during 1982 and 1983. Items include the magazine "Around Canada's Wonderland", Vol 2, No 1 (1982), a Canada's Wonderland Guidebook (1982), a Canada's Wonderland Private Offer Brochure (1982) and a Show Schedule from August 5-15, 1983.

Carrville Grist Mill Painting

Item consists of one (1) oil on board painting of the Carville Grist Mill, painted in the year 1900. The Carrville Grist Mill was located on lots 16 and 17 in concession 2, and was erected by Michael Fischer ca. 1820.

City Archives Memory Project [Textual record and other material]

Collection consists of manuscripts with people's memories of growing up or living in Vaughan. Includes stories and memories of buildings, people, businesses, roads, storms, schools, churches, etc. Some responders even included copies of images and artwork.

City of Vaughan Promotional Materials

Fonds consists of promotional items created over the course of business by the City. Materials include flyers for Winterfest, Summerfest, Canada Day and Concerts in the Park, as well as What's on in Vaughan, and flags from National Public Works Week 2018. Additional materials found throughout the City for promotion will be included as they are produced.

Corporate Communications Department Collection

Collection consists of textual records and ephemera collected and produced by the City's Corporate Communications Department. Included in this collection is a Pierre Berton "In Memoriam" Book, contained within a three-ring leather binder. This book was provided by Corporate Communications to Vaughan staff and residents in 2004, and contains messages of support and sympathy for the passing of Berton in November of 2004.

Accession RG 25-016.1 consists of 8 items of resource and Vaughan historical significance. Included are four copies of the City of Vaughan Crest patches, two mini DV recordings of the inaugural council of December 6, 2000 and one copy of "Allegiance: The Ontario Story".

Accession RG 25-017.1 consists of 7 items related to the City of Vaughan's 25th Anniversary celebration in 2016 and include one (1) vinyl X-frame banner that was on display in the main hall, five (5) large vinyl banners that hung in the atrium, and (1) fabric print media wall with the 25th logo used as a backdrop during media events.

Accession RG 25-018.1 consists of 838 CDs, containing photos, videos and presentatons of past City events. Commissioned by Corporate Communications, these CDs contain a snapshot of various city-run events from 1995-2015.

In 2022, additional materials from this fonds were transferred from the JOC vault to the archives at City Hall. These included five plaques and medals with Italian language, one of which references Sora. In addition, there was one plaque from Italy (1993), a picture pf 4 Japanese children, a certificate from the Ontario Skills Development Office that was scanned by Mayor Lorna Jackson (1987) and a poster by the City of Vaughan Community Relations Committee.
