General note

Lillias Macdonald was born in 1902 in the Village of Tullamore in the Township of Chinguacousy in Peel County. She was the daughter of Peter and Amelia Macdonald. Peter was a blacksmith and the Macdonald family (Peter's parents) immigrated from Scotland in the late 1860's, first settling in Stanley Mills (just south of Tullamore) for a couple of years before relocating to Tullamore around 1871. Her mother Amelia's maiden name was Lindsay. The Lindsay family came to Upper Canada from Ireland in 1831 and farmed land from a crown deed in Albion Township just north of Tullamore.

Lillias had a younger brother, Donald Cameron Macdonald (born 1905). He was also a blacksmith but eventually became an automobile mechanic as well.

After Lillias married Murray Ingram (1901 -1964), they took up residence in Woodbridge where Murray was from. A few years after Murray passed away, Lillias remarried to John (Jack) Montgomery who was originally from the Township of Toronto Gore. They lived in Brampton where Lillias remained for the rest of her life.

Lillias passed away in 1993 and is laid to rest with her first husband, Murray Ingram, in the cemetery at Christ Church Anglican Woodbridge on Islington Avenue.
