Fonds consists of plans, reports, studies, correspondence, published materials, essays, and newspaper clippings which document the planning and development of Vaughan. Specific Vaughan topics within the fonds include the Maple dump, the Maple theme park, the Woodbridge annexation, and the building of the Vaughan industrial park, to name but a few. Moreover, official plans and studies for Thornhill, Maple, Kleinburg, Nashville, and Woodbridge provide invaluable evidence as to the evolutionary development of these communities.

Item consists of a minute book. Record of Council deliberations and decisions; includes transcriptions of committee reports and financial statements (receipts and disbursements) of Corporation of United Counties of York and Peel; Council petitions to the Legislature are also present.

Hand-book delineates the composition of various municipal units (villages, etc.), municipal councils, including the latter's qualifications, disqualifications, and exemptions, as well as the duties associated with various municipal positions such as clerk, treasurer, assessor, auditor, etc. Also comments upon powers of municipal councils, procedures governing meetings of the latter, elections, etc.

Fonds consists of records of the Police Village of Thornhill which reflect the functions and activities of the two constituent components for the village administration: the Board of Trustees and the Thornhill Area Recreation Committee. Aggregates of correspondence and minute books located respectively in the two sous fonds constituting this fonds provide the highest level of insight into the functions, activities, goals, accomplishments, principals, etc. of the Police Village of Thornhill Board of Trustees and the Thornhill Area Recreation Committee. Other record types present include financial and legal documents, reports, site plans, 3 photo prints of the Thornhill Swimming Pool, and printed material such as programs, brochures, pamphlets and circulars.
