Item consists of a report prepared by Conservation Branch of Department of Planning and Development, with assistance of Royal Ontario Museum of Zoology, Toronto and Suburban Planning Board and the Office of the Engineer of North York Township. Comments on geology, physiograpy, and climate of the Don Watershed; also comments on flora and fauna, water, land use and land use capability, and recreation in the area. Includes considerable historical data relating to the Don Watershed: Indigenous History, fur-trading and town planning, 1760-1792, the first settlements, roads and travel, mills, transportation, villages, industry, the watershed since 1867, etc.; most of information gleaned from material housed at the Department of Public Archives and Records, and the Dominion Bureau of Archives, Ottawa. Report includes as appendices a small number of maps delineating land use and existing woodland and restoration land. Only 200 copies of report issued.

Fonds consists of textual records, photographic material and objects. Textual material predominantly composed of scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, typescripts, circulars, brief histories and biographical sketches, pamphlets, etc. Also, graphic material including photoprints, some of which are located in the abovereferenced binders, slides, and microfiche copies of 2 photo albums. All material reflects Mrs. Wood's eclectic conception of those topics, events, persons, places, etc. constituting the history of the Vaughan area, with a particular emphasis on Woodbridge. M013.40 includes 19 diaries kept by Mary Wood between 1928 and 1989 as well as various cookbooks from the 1960s-1980s, photos of the Mud Brick House being moved, photos of the Fairground Lane Houses in Woodbridge being developed, and a Woodbridge School class photo from 1914 or 1915 as well as a book recording the graves at various cemeteries between 1921 and 1954. Also a book with obituary newspaper clippings from 1982 to 1989 and details on Wayne and Gert's 1956 wedding.

M019.3 contains material from Mary Wood received via Ann and Wayne Wood. This accession contains physical material from the Woodbridge Fall Fair (one cap, one candy dish, one entry ticket), one button with a mirror and a photograph material related to the funerals of Mary Wood, John Wood, and various others held at Scott Funeral Home in Woodbridge from 1969 to 1980. There is also 108 various Woodbridge photos (some identified, some not), 4 photo negatives, 1 stereosocopic negative, 14 negative strips, 3 postcards, business cards from Woodbridge in the mid-20th century, a baby book and pamphlet for Wayne Wood and funeral registers for (James Alvin Wood and Mary Wood, as well as the marriage certifcate and wedding book for John Wood and Mary (nee Brown) Wood. In addition, there are a couple scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, cards and documents, and a portrait of Mary Wood.

Fonds consists of family histories and genealogical material, histories of schools and churches in Pine Grove and Woodbridge as well as the communities themselves, photographs, photo albums, scrapbooks, architectural drawings of the St. Margaret Mary School, diplomas, report cards, invitations, certificates, awards, programs, maps, correspondence, newspaper ad layouts, newspaper clippings, and commemorative coins from the 1991 inauguration of the City of Vaughan. Also includes County of York uniform promotion examination certificate documenting promotion of Mary O'Rourke of the Pine Grove School and an indenture between Alfred and Harriet Gooderham, grantors, and Michael O'Rourke, grantee. Also contains "1833 it was -- a trading post and granary 1989 it is -- a house of the 20th century", an unpublished essay by Norberta O'Rourke which details the history of the Elliot Trading Post and surrounding area, originally constructed on Lot 11, Concession 8, Vaughan Township in 1833.

Transcripts of reminiscences of Marjorie Page, 1989; map of Vaughan Township, 1924; educational records; Stewart Page's 4th year thesis (1924) at the Ontario Agricultural College re: the agricultural history of Vaughan Township, including area's settlement patterns, ethnic configuration, transportation development, social life, topography, agricultural products raised, revenue derived therefrom, etc.; photoprints of Page property and family including series depicting Stewart Page as a serviceman with the Canadian Forces overseas in WW I.

File consists of photographs that focus for the most part upon the Inkerman and Gilmour hotels in Woodbridge, providing excellent views of the facade, including a fine study of a group of carpenters and labourers in front of the Inkerman House (hotel); also includes an image, partially obscured by foliage, of the Howland Mills in Kleinburg; image of the Beaverbrook House in Maple, birthplace of Baron (a.k.a Lord) Beaverbrook, is also present.

Item consists of a site plan of the property of Benjamin Thorne and William Parsons, his brother-in-law, who operated grist mill, tannery, general store in area that came to be known as Thornhill and developed extensive trade with surrounding areas and Britain; property lost in 1848 as consequence of repeal of the protectionist Corn Laws in 1846; survey of property, including part of lot 30, concession 1 as well as lot 31, concession 1and lot 32, concession 1, ordered by trustees.
