The Roxy Theatre in Woodbridge opened in 1950 and faced Hwy. 7. It was constructed of cement block and steel and had a seating capacity of approximately five hundred. Managers included Al Allin, Jack Boddam, Holly Fuller, and Vera Fenby. The theatre closed January, 1961. No use was made of the property until the fall of 1966 when it was used by the Woodbridge Auction Centre Ltd. as a car sales arena and then in 1968 as a Canadian Tire store. The building burned down in April, 1977.
