Series consists of microfiche of photo album documenting Historical Society's barn project, 1974; microfiche of plan of side-road between lot 40, concession 1 and lot 41, concession 1 illustrating longitudinal and cross sections, 1866; photoprints of John Harvie, Maple's first train conductor, taken in 1914; and undated photoprint of Keffer log house, lot 14, concession 3.

William J. Farrand fonds [Graphic material]

Fonds consists of photographs, including examples of the three earliest photographic processes: daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and tintypes. All of the above are formal studio portraits depicting individuals who are presumably members of the Farrand family, [ca. 1855-1865]; a number of the albumen photoprints within the fonds are also formal posed studio portraits, and appear in cartes-de-visite and cabinet card formats. In addition to the Farrand and Snider families, postcards depicting various Woodbridge scenes such as streetscapes, the Pine Ave. Bridge, the Snider House and a barn raising on the same property, the Woodbridge C.P.R. Depot, Woodbridge School, etc. [ca. 1885-1910] are present. Accompanying the fonds is a small grouping of textual material: correspondence between C.J.S Farrand and Mary Wood, 1963-64; a souvenir prize list and program for the 100th Anniversary Woodbridge Fair, 1947; also a small number of three dimensional artifacts accompany the fonds: 2 ribbons from the Woodbridge Fair, "Guest", 1935 and "Hon. Director", 1910, and an imitation pewter atomizer enscriberd "Zoe E. Snider".

Item consists of a microfilm reel with the Elder's Mills Women's Insitute Tweedsmuir History. The Elder's Mill Tweedsmuir history is composed of eight topical elements: mills, including the origin of the name Elder's Mills, genealogies, photographs, maps of orignal land owners, and Indigenous History; the Elder's Mills Women's Institute, including organizational history, personal histories of membership, membership lists, etc. ; churches; schools, including Elder's Mills (School Section #15), Vaughan School (Lower Ninth) (School Section #13), Mackenzie Senior Public School, and a brief history of schools in the west half of Vaughan; roads and fences; farms, from the 7th to the 9th concession, community organizations; and services, including Woodbridge and Vaughan Telephone Company, Woodbridge Hydro-Electric Power Commission, Toronto Grey and Bruce Railway; also included is a roll of Elder's Mills residents who served in His Majesty's Forces during World War I.

Item consists of an edited copy of original silent 8 mm film by Marion D. Watson executed in 1949 and 1950, with b&w stills and narrative added by Jim Scott. Depicts the people of Maple and their physical surroundings, and provides insight into the character of the village during the time in question.

Postcards depict various scenes in Woodbridge; among these are bridges (including railroad bridges), trains, roads, agricultural scenes (including a steam-powered tractor pulling a combined mower-reaper), construction scenes, local business enterprises (including the Woodbridge Hotel or Woodbridge House).

Series consists of postcards. Series is the product of the activity of the Vaughan Township Historical Society in the area of acquiring documentation relating to the history of the City of Vaughan and its antecedents; all such material is as a matter of policy donated to the City of Vaughan Archives. Individual postcards constituting the series were purchased over time at various public auctions. The series depicts physical aspects of a number of villages and hamlets in Vaughan Township, as well as the independent Village of Woodbridge. Specifically, images address a number of subjects: dams, churches, cemeteries, bridges, streetscapes, buildings, railroads, mills, bird's-eye views, etc.; geographic jurisdictions within Vaughan Township covered include Kleinburg, Maple, Teston, Pine Grove, Edgeley, and Nashville.
