The University Women's Club of Vaughan began in 1972 with the goal of having an organization which was community oriented and offered leadership and involvement in the community. Activities over the years included the annual book sale, the Battle of the Books in local schools, the provision of scholarships and awards to graduating students, the production of the Roads, Walks, and Streams booklet containing maps and interesting landmarks throughout Vaughan, participation in the CIBC Run for the Cure, and the formation of various interest groups such as Gourmet.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of minutes, agendas, correspondence, treasurer reports, newletters, photos, recipe and dinner booklets, programs and pamphlets, and records from various charitable events in which the Club was involved. Also includes Kleinburg Spirit Newsletters for 1997-2007. Second accession received in August of 2015, containing additional operational records from the UWC, including working drafts of "Roads, Walks and Streams", records relating to Godaughter Mrs. Livia Fekete, and notes and programs from various events. Ten books and pamphlets were also received in this accession regarding meeting rules and leadership.

Accession M019.8 consists of 20 cm of textual records, 2 books, a sign, a banner, 2 CDs and a stamp, with ink pad. The CDs are of the CFUW Vaughan 40th Anniversary, which occured in May 2012. The titles of the books are Proudly She Marched: Training Canada
