Custodial history

Vita Sana, an Italian English health magazine, was founded by Dr. Renzo Carbone and Dr. Franca Damiani Carella in the mid 1980's. It was originally based in a medical building on Carlson Avenue in Toronto (near Keele Street). Subsequently, Renzo Carbone and the company moved into a commercial condo unit at 3300 Keele Street in Concord, then to 10 District Court in Woodbridge. In 1991, the magazine was sold to Corriere Canadese and later disavowed - the victim of the economic downturn of the 1990's. These magazines were generated as part of the regular operation of the magazine. They were kept by Franca and her husband, Councillor Tony Carella until after the death of Franca in early 2020. Councillor Carella then donated the magazines to the archives.

Scope and content

Collection consists of Vita Sana magazines. Magazines were originally about health, but later expanded to cover such topics as relationships, culture and family life.
