The Yellow Pages have been in existence since ca. 1883, when a printer in Wyoming working on a regular telephone directory, ran out of white paper and used yellow instead. Since this time, both telephone and business directories have been referred to as yellow pages and have been produced for regions and communities in Canada by the main national telephone company (or subsidiary) at the time.
Scope and content
Files consist of two (2) Yellow Pages phonebooks, printed in 2006 and 2009/2010 for the Vaughan and Richmond Hill area of York Region. These books were produced by the Bell Telephone Company.
