Edgeley Beef Ring, Number 2 was established in 1885 by farmers in the Edgeley area to administer the collective slaughter and processing of the cattle of the organization's membership. Transcriptions of the minutes of the first meeting of organization in 1885 appearing in reference sources (i.e. the Edgeley Tweedsmuir History) indicate adoption of the rules of operation of [Edgeley] "Beef Ring No. 1", suggesting a predecessor body. The Edgeley Beef Ring appears to have disbanded in 1924.
