Bygone Vaughan is constituted of the following segments: story of Vaughan's settlement; special events and pioneer traditions; Black Creek Pioneer Village; history of pioneer transportation; history of area fairs and festivals; municipal government; Lorne Levy interviews; Jessie Bryson, past president of Vaughan Historical Society. Format is a series of stills, photographs and portraits, with contemporary footage, as well as museum living history interpretations, and narrative commentary.

Item consists of December 1990 issue of the Vaughan Weekly celebrating Vaughan's new status as a City. Includes articles on the history of Vaughan and Woodbridge as well as historic photos. Topics include: lamplighters and street crossings, early municipal services and government, the Superior Propane Explosion in Maple, the naming of Vaughan, Woodbridge Fair, volunteer firefighters, the first pioneers, and rounding up pigs in township. Recollections and memories of Nathaniel Clarke Wallace and his father, Rev. N. Clarke Wallace as well as Ted Jackman, Deputy Administrator of Vaughan.

Fonds consists of plans, reports, studies, correspondence, published materials, essays, and newspaper clippings which document the planning and development of Vaughan. Specific Vaughan topics within the fonds include the Maple dump, the Maple theme park, the Woodbridge annexation, and the building of the Vaughan industrial park, to name but a few. Moreover, official plans and studies for Thornhill, Maple, Kleinburg, Nashville, and Woodbridge provide invaluable evidence as to the evolutionary development of these communities.
